I'm Lost

It appears that winter brings out the socialite in me. Ok, I know I'm not fooling any of you.....but in the past 4 four winters I've spent in NYC, I don't think I've ever been as active as I am right now. I'm not complaining though. I think it's helping me get through the very sad winter moods I usually get in at this time of year. I'm actually really thankful that there is so much to do right now....great concerts, storyslams, and multiple other performances I want to see. This week was a quiet one but next week I think I am going to two concerts (Ingrid Michaelson, Band of Horses) so there should be plenty to talk about.

In other news.....

I just watched the first episode (this season) of Lost. This shows always reels me in for the best fantasy-mystery ride ever. It doesn't bother me that there are more and more questions at the end of every episode, and I am not kidding when I say that I cried at least two times while watching. I'm hooked, and I can't wait to watch the second episode...patiently waiting for me on my dvr :)

This weekend I have discovered my love for cats. For those who know me well, I am in no way an animal person, but every once in a while, some animal makes some sort of connection with my heart and I am hooked. The first time I connected with an animal was with my old roommates dog, Trixie. Even though we are miles apart from each other, that miniature schnauzer will always have a place in my heart. It's crazy ! I start talking in some baby voice reserved especially for her. Her owner thinks I am nuts ! But I am sure that's not the only reason why....lol...So I don't think I like all animals, but I can definitely understand someone else loving an animal. But I digress...what is the reason for this realization ? I'm cat sitting for my neighbor and I love this cat. All my life I've been surrounded by dogs and cats...but I never gave them a second thought ! Maybe I love Trixie and Gatsby so much because they aren't mine....well, that opens a whole other can of worms....
