It was my last day at the school job today...and what a relief ! This was the first job I ever had in New York and I can't say that it hasn't been a good experience, at times, for me. You do, however, get to a point some times...where you just aren't motivated any more. I parted ways with some really good people today. I hope that our paths cross again....not all of them though...just a couple of them :)
It was the beginning of something today too. Starting tomorrow, I officially begin working as an independent contractor of speech-language pathology. I wish I could convey the joy I feel when doing this particular kind of speech therapy. Don't get me wrong ! I get stressed out...very, very stressed out. At the end of the day though, I love it. I'll try to divulge a story here and there in the future.
In other news, I saw Wilco at the Hammerstein Ballroom a couple of nights ago. They were a great live band. My only problem was the venue. The stage at the HB is low, which is a serious criticism from those of us who are 5 ft and under. Usually the combination of lighting design with the performance can make or break a show experience for me. However, the fact that I couldn't at any point ever see the band wasn't as detrimental as I thought it would be. Wilco is a great live band...and it seems that, for me at least, the music really speaks for itself. The new album "Sky Blue Sky" is great.
