a new thing or two

Just finished reading "Then We Came To The End" by Joshua Ferris, a lovely resident of the neigborhood, so I hear. And a good looking one at that ! Has anyone seen the author's photo on the book jacket ??? Anyway, probably one of the more entertaining books I've read all year so I thought I would add it to my list of favorite things. Aside from that I haven't had much time to enjoy anything...wah, poor me ! I know I am the epitome of procrastination right now. How can I resist since I have so much to occupy my time...work, happy hour, work, montauk trips, work, looking at my still unpainted kitchen and wondering when i will finally finish that project, work...well, you get the picture.

Anyway, here is a link to the book on barnes and noble:

Oh and I found this great video about the book as well:

Another great find ! www.goodreads.com

My friend Marie sent me this website which isn't very different from librarything.com but goodreads just seemed a little more user friendly to me. Check it out !

the longest hibernation ever

Where have I been ?????? With travel plans and season finales looming over my head, I haven't had much time to blog lately. I'm not stopping though :)....I constantly have a thought of what would be a good topic for discussion. And with the beautiful sil ver fox in tow (I got a new laptop !), nothing can stop me now ! Especially when I can sit on my couch and watch the season finales as I type...heehee

So what I'd like to start with, upon my return, is talking about some of my favorite things a la Martha Stewart...I guess...Does Martha love her "This American Life" podcast ???? I heard a quote once (on TAF) about how it was just a bunch of hipsters waxing poetic or something. But I am here to tell you that it is so much more than that ! The last podcast I listened to was an investigative report on prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. They aren't all that news-related though. Other topics have included reputation, or road trips...trust me it's a lot of fun and you can check it out by going to itunes and searching "This American Life" under podcasts or you can go to the website:

Oh and I shouldn't forget to mention that the show is so awesome that Showtime picked it up for a tv series. My new crush is the show's host (for radio and tv) Ira Glass.....I can't wait to here from all of you about this !
